We currently have the following posts at the GSPCA -

Animal Welfare and Education Officer (Full Time Permanent Post)

Temporary Full Time Receptionist

An exciting opportunity at the GSPCA has come up as an Animal Welfare and Education Officer.

This unique post that was previously held by Emma Trousdale who worked fantastically over the 2 years developing the role has sadly left us as a Full Time staff member but continues to support the Shelter in other ways.

The role is a varied and specialist one which includes investigating cruelty, advising, liaising and working with a wide variety of the community, media and organisations.  The successful candidate would be required to write reports and put together investigation documents using the IT systems at the GSPCA.

As part of the role the GSPCA strongly believes in education and you would be required to organise school and group talks both on and off site.

The role requires flexibility as the GSPCA operates 24 hours 7 days a week and not only would you be required to carry out Education and Welfare work but other duties include learning the other departments at the Shelter and helping organise fund raising events.

The closing date for this post is Friday 19th October. For more details please see the forms below or collect an application pack from the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

We are also looking for a Temporary Receptionist for 6 weeks to help cover 5 days a week including Saturdays.  This is to help cover our current Receptionist team who are off for this period. We are looking to quickly fill this post so please submit your application as soon as possible.

For additional details and the application pack please call 01481 257261, pop in to the Shelter in St Andrews or click on the link below to download all of the application pack forms and the application forms.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'We have a fantastic team here at the GSPCA both in terms of staff and volunteers and it is a rare occurence now for posts to come up, but we currently have two fantastic opportunities at the Shelter.'

'When we advertise posts we can easily get around 100 applicants as there are many people looking to work and help animal welfare in Guernsey.'

'These are the first posts we have had this year and with the application packs now online and at the Shelter in St Andrews we are expecting a huge response especially for the Animal Welfare and Education Officer role.'

'A good place for anyone to start that is looking to work with animals is by volunteering and we have our next volunteer induction evening this Wednesday at 6.30pm.'

To donate to Nouska the Husky's operation and the other animals in need please call 01481 257261, pop into the Shelter in St Andrews or click on the Paypal link below and reference 'Nouska's Appeal'
