Fantastic Dog Emergency First Aid Training last night and dates set for next year

Last night 16 dog owners came along to the GSPCA to learn about first aid for dogs and how to help save their pets life.
With a full room on a dark wet windy night the group were trained in the emergency procedures to help save a dogs life from learning to identify the signs of life to CPR.
Taking the course was GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne who has over 20 years working in the field of animal rescue and with over 3000 animals through the doors every year at the GSPCA the team see cases of animal first aid on a daily basis here in Guernsey.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We had a great evening last night talking about and training 16 islanders in helping save their dogs life from the very serious health challenges to dealing with a chipped nail.”
“We have been running dog and cat first aid courses for four years and have trained nearly 200 participants to help save animals lives.”
“The next dog and cat first aid courses will take place in March at the GSPCA and you can book your place now for yourself or even as gift for Christmas.”
“Thank you to all 16 that came along last night to the GSPCA Dog First Aid training, it was great to meet everyone and help those learn skills to help save a dogs life.”
The dates for the first aid courses are:
Dog First Aid 6.30pm - 8.45pm Monday 12th March 2018 - Ref - Dog 12/03
Cat First Aid 6.30pm - 8.45pm Monday 19th March 2018 - Ref - Cat 19/03
Dog First Aid 6.30pm - 8.45pm Monday 12th November 2018 - Ref - Dog 12/11
All first aid courses are a minimum £20 donation and you must book your place by 5pm before the course.
Within the sessions you get the chance to learn about what to do if you were faced with an emergency situation with your dog or cat. All participants receive handouts, a few goodies and a certificate.
