Last night the GSPCA descended on the Market Bistro with 70 amigos for a night of Mexican Bingo.

As yesterday was the Mexican Independence Day the GSPCA combined a night of Bingo with a Mexican theme.

From decorations to fancy dress and a wonderful Mexican buffet a fun night was had by all.

Each table was named after an animal that is either at the Shelter or has been rehomed or released back to the wild.

There were 8 games of bingo and half way through the crowd enjoyed a Mexican spread from the great team at Market Bistro who catered for all tastes and dietary requirements.

The winner of the last games jackpot of £100 was on Bonny the Bunnies table who got her prize in a GSPCA mug.

The first line of each game had a prize and then each full 'Casa' as the winners had to shout got their prize money in a GSPCA mug to remind them of the evening.

Throughout the evening the crowd had some of the classic calls from caller and GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne who was suitably attired as a Mexican and in the second half for a small donation Chris Bader made a donation to the GSPCA to give the calling a go himself for a game which entertained the bingo players.

Through the night there was a raffle and many games for everyone to play and the buzz in the room certainly felt like a fiesta with Mexican waves included.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "What an amazing Mexican Bingo Fiesta we had last night at the Market Bistro raising funds for the GSPCA."

"From the Mexican food to the effort many put in with their fancy dress we all had a wonderful evening and we expect to have raised over £500 for animals in Guernsey."

"A huge thank you to all that supported our second bingo night at the Market Bistro and especially to Shaun and his team for the great service and fantastic food."

"Our next bingo night is planned for Thursday 2nd October at the Last Post and as its World Animal Day that week so it will have an animal theme and we'd love to see more fancy dress."

"Tickets are only £14.50 which includes your food of chicken in a basket, a vegitarian option or a gluten free fish and chips as well as 8 games of bingo and you can book by calling 257261, through the Last Post or via our paypal link and reference the bingo which starts on the 2nd at 7pm."

"We are planning another date in the Market Bistro which is a wonderful venue and will release details very soon."

"Muchas gracias damas y caballeros."
