Good luck Ana Goncalves named regional ITV Pride of Britain winner in the finals on Monday

Jersey woman Ana Goncalves has won the regional Daily Mirror ITV Pride of Britain Fundraiser of the Year Award.
Recently ITV Channel asked GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne to help judge the finalists from across the Channel Islands and it was no easy task for Steve and the other judges made up of representatives from Channel charities and ITV.
With local finalists from across the islands the judges had to decide between many fantastic island fund raisers and individuals that do amazing things for charities across the Channel Islands.
On the 14th October ITV reporter Hannah Bechelet surprised the ultramarathon runner at the bank she works in to tell her the news.
Ana will now represent the Channel Islands at the national awards on Monday, and will compete against the other regional winners for the national Fundraiser Award.
Ana finishing her 30th marathon in 30 days Ana has spent the past 11 year raising money for charity, since her sister suffered a head injury and was helped by Headway Jersey.
Since then Ana has raised more than £100,000 by doing challenges such as running seven marathons in seven days, a marathon a month for a year and 100 miles in a day.
Most recently, she became the first Jersey person to run 30 marathons in 30 days, raising more than £15,000 in the process.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "It was a real surprise and humbling experience to judge the local ITV Pride of Britain winner."
"There were amazing finailists and all deserve to be winners in their own right but Ana did stand out from the crowd with the amazing acheivements and funds she has raised for charity."
