On Sunday we hold the fifth Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday in Guernsey.

With stalls, fire engine, animals, games, kids area, giant animal mascot 5-a-side football and more make sure you pop into town this Sunday for a fun family and pet day.

Every year we hold a fun dog show and this year registration opens at 11am along the Seafront near Crown Pier.

The show will be judged from 12.30pm with the following fun categories and is a fun dog show and is open to any breed of dog.

Best Male Puppy (2yrs and under)

Best Female Puppy (2yrs and under)

Best Rescue

Best Smile

Waggiest Tail

Prettiest Bitch

Most Handsome Dog

Best Trick Golden Oldies (7yrs +)

Best in Show (previous class winners)

Entries are £1 a class and for registration come to the tent on the day from 11am.

Last year the Best in Show was Eden a lovely Red Setter and was chosen by special judge Olaf.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We are very busy preparing for our BIGGEST day of the year for the GSPCA, that being the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday."

"It is always a wonderful fun family and pet day celebrating animals in Guernsey and we always love to see the many dogs that come along on the day."

"We do ask that with so many dogs to please ensure they are on leads and you have plenty of poo bags, but we will have a pet supply stall selling goods to raise funds for the GSPCA and plenty of dog water bowls."

"The fun dog show starts at 12.30pm so please make sure you are early to register your dog which is being judged by local dog trainer Katie Ozard."

"There is also a fun board for pet pictures so if you can't bring your animal on the day you can bring a picture to help celebrate this fun occasion."

The winner will be chosen at random on the 15th May at our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.

We need to get at least another 12kg or more on her to be fit enough for the wild and we are hoping this competition will help raise the funds to get that final weight on her and help with the care that she has had at the GSPCA.

The winner will be chosen just after 3pm at Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 15th May.
