Sean Corlett a local author has recently written his first kids book and donated a number to the GSPCA Animal Shelter to help raise funds to help with the development of a Garden of Rest in St Andrews.

The Shelter has work currently ongoing thanks to a grant from the Sure Community Foundation to help landscape an area for owners of animals that sadly died to sit and reflect their beloved pets.

After Sean saw this and found out more on the Shelter Wish List Page he got in touch with an idea to sell his books at the Shelter to help with further work to the area.

Sean wrote the book and dedicated it to Hettie his black and white spaniel.

The book is called Hettie's Guide to Nashia and is all about Hettie and her new friends in Nashia.

Sean has not only written the book, but also did the art work and arranged for printing all by himself.

The books are on sale at the Shelter at only £5 and all funds will help towards the Garden of Rest project.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'We are so grateful to Sean for this wonderful gesture and it is a lovely little book.'

'The books are on sale at the reception desk at only £5 and every penny will help with our Garden of Rest which the Sure Community Foundation have already helped towards.'

'It is never easy when anyone loses a pet and we have a web page dedicated on ways to help with this.'

If you would like us to post a copy out to you can order over the phone by calling 01481 257261 (50p postage applies) or pop into the Shelter Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm (the shop is closed Sunday and Bank Holidays).
