North Show fun and first GSPCA Battle of Flowers Float thanks to Jo Hardill, her friends and family – thanks to all involved

Last month we took the GSPCA stall along to the North Show. The North Show is one of the main events in Guernsey's summer calendar, and takes place in the wonderful rural setting of Saumarez Park.
The Guernsey North Show and Battle of Flowers is run by the Northern Agricultural and Horticultural Society and the GSPCA are very grateful to them for allowing us to come along.
Each year the Show attracts thousands of visitors to: The displays of exhibitors' entries, ranging from Guernsey livestock through fur and feather, fruit, vegetables, flowers, flower arrangements, cookery, photography, art and craft.
This was the sixth year in a row the GSPCA have taken a stall along and we had lots to do and see and even Bernard our Giant Animal Mascot with us.
This year was the first time the GSPCA had an entry in the Battle of Flowers thanks to Jo Hardill, her friends and family.
The float was made of real flowers and Jo with help made what was a beautiful display with the theme of ‘Hey Diddle Diddle’.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We'd like to say a huge thank you to all that helped us on our stall and everyone that supported the two days at the North Show."
"We had two lovely days and thank the committee from the North Show for allowing us to join them at their fantastic annual event."
“We also have to say a big thank you to Arabella for making tubs of slime and to her and her brother for selling them and raising £75 on the GSPCA stall at the North Show.”
“We also have to say a special thank you to Swoffers who donated bird boxes for us to sell and raise funds for the GSPCA.”
“We raised just over £1000 at the North Show which really helps the 550+ animals we have at the GSPCA.”
“A special thank you to Jo for her amazing Battle of Flowers float sporting the GSPCA logo supported by Jake Hardill, Joseph Fox and Bernard our mascot who handed out a few gifts as the went around the show ground.”
“Thank you to all of the volunteers and helpers on our stall and of course to all that supported us at this wonderful event.”
