Pickles the cat who was diagnosed with cancer had her operation to remove her ear tips yesterday.

She is doing well and the vet and team at the Shelter are hopeful that Pickles has had all of the affected areas removed.

Anna Carre Senior Animal Care Assistant said 'She is so sweet and she still has a way to go before her ears are all healed.'

'The main problem I now have with Pickles is that she is so friendly she wants to head rub you to say hello and with her ears needing to heal its very difficult to stop it.'

'When she came back from her operation it was like nothing had happened, she really is a star.'

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'It's cats like Pickles that warms the heart.'

'Even with all the pain she has been through all she wants is love and affection.'

'Now she's had the operation she should have a much longer life.'

'We are so thankful to all that have already donated towards Pickles and welcome any donations to help her and the hundreds of other animals in our care.'

Here is a video of her post operation -
