Today is a very sad day at the GSPCA as one of our longest serving staff heads off for pastures new.

Tony Gallie who has worked at the GSPCA for nearly 10 years has been a fantastic team member and excellent worker whilst he has been with us and will be missed by all of the team.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "It may be New Years Eve but tomorrow Tony will be looking to a new year with a new role and we will all miss him as he has been an amazing team member here at the GSPCA."

"He has worked primarily in kennels but nothing was too much for Tony who was always happy to help others working day and night."

"Tony has a wonderful family as well as an excellent work ethic and we all wish him all the best for the future and we all know he will stay in touch and won't be too far away."

"Tony always went the extra mile including the 40 mile walk around Guernsey, the Christmas Day swim, coming to our bingo nights and wearing purple for our purple birthday  week in February."

"He has been a great friend and I am proud to have been his manager and I know he will do well in what ever he sets his mind too."

Watch this space as we let you know how the new staff member settles in taking on Tony's challenging role.

Over the festive period please remember that in the case of an emergency, sick, injured or stray animal(s) please call 01481 257261 and choose the 24 hour emergency option.

The GSPCA officially stop rehoming on the 15th December until the 2nd January, but some animals may be suitable during these periods. The GSPCA do not believe in pets as presents and each home is looked at individually as is the pet.

The times are below for reception when you can pop in and buy everything from your Christmas lottery tickets to pets presents from the GSPCA Animal Shelter. The GSPCA want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
