Last night the GSPCA Wardens were called out to L'Islet to help rescue a very poorly injured cat.

The grey female cat had clear injuries and was taken directly to Isabelle Vets where she has been cared for overnight and undergoing x-rays and tests as she is very unwell before coming back to the GSPCA.

When she was rescued she was soaking wet, flat, lethargic, and barely moving her back legs.

Sadly she had no microchip or tag to contact an owner and the most apparent injury was her skin had been taken off of her tail.

Overnight the veterinary team have been doing everything they can to care for her and the GSPCA team have called her 'Catrina' until hopefully we can find her owner.

Catrina is an older adult grey cat with short hair and a few teeth missing.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We got the call to help rescue Catrina the injured grey cat from L'Islet around 7pm last night."

"GSPCA Volunteer Wardens Matt and Jen attended and due to her condition and injuries rushed her to Isabelle Vets where they are currently treating her and undertaking x-rays as she may have a fractured pelvis."

"Sadly she had no microchip or way to contact an owner and we are appealing for any information if you know who she belongs to please call us on 257261."

"She has improved this morning and is moving around a little better and eaten some food as well as used her litter tray."

"It is likely if we can't find her owner she will need a number of further tests, medications and possibly an operation which we will hopefully know very soon."

"If you would like to donate to her care and the other animals at the GSPCA there are many ways from the links below, calling the Shelter, sponsoring a pen or getting involved with GSPCA Purple week which starts this Friday and celebrates 144 years helping animals in Guernsey."
