Chloe Butt (8), a pupil at St. Andrews Primary School had a surprise last week when she was told that she had won a party for her year on the 3G Pitch at the KGV. Chloe was the winner of the GSPCA design a firework and bonfire poster competition which will be used in the GSPCA safety information for 2015.
Presenting the prize was Toby the dog accompanied by Steve Byrne, Manager of the GSPCA who commented "The lucky winner was Chloe and despite a large number of entries from other schools islandwide, it was two of her class mates that were awarded joint second place”.
For the third year the GSPCA has tickets for the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery on sale at the Animal Shelter reception desk.
The 2014 tickets which are only £2 each are on sale and each have two numbers on and a scratch card section.
Jeremy the Lop Eared Bunny modeling the tickets pictured is looking for a new home and is just one of the many animals you would help by purchasing your tickets from the Animal Shelter.
Profits from the lottery, which is due to be drawn on 18th December 2014.
Last Friday was part of the GSPCA Purple Week and our 141st anniversary.
Around the island people were fund raising to help the many animals at the GSPCA.
St Andrews Primary got involved with the purple theme and also had a mufti day.
Not only did they raise £183 for the Shelter they also invited GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne along to do a talk.
Steve took along a few friends from the Shelter including Mable the chicken, Alan the rabbit and Toby the terrier.
Tomorrow pupils and teachers from St Andrews Primary School will be doing their bit for the GSPCA Purple Week on what is the charities 141st birthday.
Not only will pupils and teachers be buying GSPCA purple wrist bands and having a mufti day ,they are also going to have a few special visitors but ssshhhhh don't tell the children!
Tomorrow afternoon GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne will be taking a few of the residents along to the school for them to meet.

Every day the GSPCA have visitors in all sorts of shapes and sizes but the team had an extra big surprise when after lunch a local herd of cattle popped through the hedge into the Shelter grounds.
Fortunately, the team care for, rescue and work with all kinds of animals and after a quick radio the team worked together to ensure they made their way back home with their owner.
