Millions of people, young and old, are stamp collectors (philatelists), and philately is an educational and fun hobby.
Couple this with helping animals in Guernsey, keeping stamps out of landfill and instead recycling stamps to collectors.
At the GSPCA we collect used postage stamps to raise money for the many animals we rescue, help and care for.
When we find used stamps, we then sort, and sell on to collectors and philatelists, which is an excellent source of extra income, and you are helping save the environment and reduce waste by not binning them! What could be better? Whether your stamps are recent or old, common or rare, wherever they come from across the world, every stamp can be saved!
Steve Byrne GSPCA MAnager said "We are always looking to raise funds for the many animals in our care and help the environment."
"By recycling your stamps not only will you be helping the environment, but you will also help cats like Rubis who is cuurently under veterinary care for a number of health issues and needs regular injections."
To prepare your stamps for recycling please cut the stamp off the envelope. When cutting, leave approximately 1cm of envelope bordering each stamp. The rest of the envelope can be discarded (which will make it cheaper to send).
Please send or deliver your used or new stamps to:
GSPCA, Rue des Truchots, St Andrews, Guernsey, GY6 8UD
All donations of stamps will be most gratefully received!
We can also recycle mobile phones to help raise funds to help the work we carry out 24 hours 7 days a week and will release further details very soon.
