We are pleased to announce that the owner of Chilli has been found.

Claire Mclarnon after seeing formerly named Chilli the Corn Snake in today's Guernsey Press has just called into the Animal Shelter in St Andrews to confirm Chilli is indeed Lenny.

Claire who whilst in the middle of moving discovered Lenny had escaped in transit nearly 3 weeks ago.

At 3 years of age Lenny has survived some of the coldest temperatures Guernsey has had in the last year and staff and volunteers at the Shelter were pleased to see how happy Lenny and Claire were to see each other.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'It is always wonderful when we can reunite a stray animal with his or her owner.'Lenny the corn snake at the GSPCA Animal Shelter in Guernsey

'Normally stray dogs, cats, ferrets and other pets with fur and feather we do see the occasional reptile but this little fellow has had to brave some very cold temperatures in the last few weeks.'

'If anyone loses a pet no matter how large or small we always urge them to contact the Shelter to report it as we collect and rescue stray animals, birds and others like snakes every day of the year.'

Lenny is now back home safe and sound with owner Claire who will certainly ensure his vivarium is secure so he doesn't do the same again.
