Celebrating the Queen's 90th and fund raising with St Andrews Floral Group at Blanchelande College

On the 12th June we and St Andrews Floral Group joined Blanchelande PTFA Summer Fete and St. Andrew’s Parish to celebrate Her Majesty's 90th birthday. 

There was free fun and family entertainment including tennis, a pets corner, children’s sports, teas, a barbecue, bar and live music from Elliot Falla.

There was also Thomas the train ride, Pirates ship, BBQ (Gsy farm made Beef burgers), food and drink, Rocquettes cider, various stalls including a cake stall, raffle, animals and plenty to do and see.

St Andrews Floral Group bringing the community together - Thank you to the volunteers, RSPB, Probation Service & Waitrose staff

Yesterday and today a wide variety of the community have been helping out at the GSPCA.

St Andrews Floral Group have been working with the GSPCA to help improve the grounds at the Shelter in St Andrews and help the biodiversity to improve the site for the wildlife in the area.

St Andrews Floral Group bringing the community together at the GSPCA to help wild and domestic animals in Guernsey

The GSPCA has been situated in the heart of Guernsey in the Parish of St Andrews since 1929.

The GSPCA site has transformed over the years and especially in recent years with the kennels being rebuilt in 2005 and the new multi purpose animal welfare building in 2016.

The Animal Shelter helps in excess of 3000 animals every year that come though the doors, but there are many more supported by the work we do.

Last few Christmas Lottery Tickets at the GSPCA left to sell to help charities in Guernsey

For the fourth year the GSPCA has tickets for the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery on sale at the Animal Shelter reception desk and you only have hours left.

The 2015 tickets which are only £2 each are on sale and each have two numbers on and a scratch card section.

Profits from the lottery will help local charities, which is due to be drawn on 18th December 2014.

St Andrews Floral Group & the Probation Service helping out at the GSPCA

The GSPCA are hugely grateful to the St Andrews Floral Group and the Guernsey Probation Team for all of their help and support at the GSPCA.

Since 2012 the Guernsey Probation Service have not only supported the GSPCA at events, decorating, gardening, with group work and individual placements, there are many other ways in which they have helped.

This weekend a work group assisted a team of volunteers from the St Andrews Floral Group improve and clear the grounds and banks at the Animal Shelter on Rue Des Truchots.

Listen to the children - Here are some of the firework safety posters from last years competition with KGV

During 2014 the GSPCA and KGV ran a firework poster competition with many of the local schools.

Chloe Butt (8), a pupil at St. Andrews Primary School had a surprise last year when she was told that she had won a party for her year on the 3G Pitch at the KGV. Chloe was the winner of the GSPCA design a firework and bonfire poster competition.

St Andrews Floral Group Going Wild at the GSPCA

St Andrew’s Floral Group has been working with the GSPCA to develop the area around their existing pond to create an area for everyone to enjoy the lovely peaceful setting of the Animal Shelter and provide a better natural haven for wildlife.

Thank you to the 10 year old Polar Bear that took a dip to raise funds for the GSPCA

The GSPCA would like to thank a very kind and brave young lady.

Ailsa Duncan age 10 raised a fantastic £51 through sponsorship after taking a very cold dip in the sea.

As many adults and some youngsters brave the sea on Christmas Day, Ailsa aged 10 took the opportunity to combine a brave act with raising funds to help animals in Guernsey by doing the Polar Bear Swim.

GSPCA Purple Week - Help us raise funds and celebrate 142 years between Monday 9th and Sunday 15th February 2015

The GSPCA was founded in 1873 and to help celebrate 142 years caring for animals in Guernsey we are asking for your help.

There are many ways you, your school, group, work place, business can help celebrate.

The GSPCA week starts 9th February and celebrations will carry on until the 15th with our anniversary being Valentines Day the 14th February.

Thank you to all that supported our St Andrews Day fundraiser at the Last Post

Yesterday the GSPCA and supporters spent the day at the Last Post celebrating St Andrews Day.

A fun family day was held in the Parish of St Andrews to raise funds for animals in Guernsey.

The GSPCA has been based in St Andrews since 1929 and for the first time we held an event to celebrate our Parishes Saint.

We had a small fun dog show, lots of games, goods on sale, a raffle and great entertainment.
