Thursday 15th June a team of staff from BNP Paribas spent a day volunteering at the GSPCA.

8 BNP Paribas staff arrived at 9am to be greeted by Tim Pellett the GSPCA Training and Community Officer.

They started with a lovely picture at the front of the Animal Shelter before they began a day of helping around site doing a huge amount.

Through the day they learnt about much of our work and met many of the team and finished with a tour of the site to see the many animals and much of our work.

Tim Pellett GSPCA Community and Training Officer said “The team from BNP Paribas were amazing help on Thursday 15th June.”

“Gardening, planting, painting, baby bird feeds, washing our ambulances, fixing ceiling tiles they were amazing help and even funded some of the items needed and at the end we finished with a mini tour as well.”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We are hugely grateful to all the team at BNP Paribas who were such an amazing help this month and for all their other support.”

“From all of the GSPCA a huge thank you to all of the BNP Paribas team for all of their help from feeding baby birds to gardening, washing vans to painting and so much more.”

“There are many ways to support us from those want to give CSR time and skills to those wanting to help sponsor or support something from our Wish List http://www.gspca.org.gg/about/our-plans-wish-list .” .”

The GSPCA really could do so much without its amazing team of volunteers and supporters.

From the Committee to those that walk dogs, fund raisers to those that help with admin, gardeners to those helping with IT, the companies who send their staff to help to so many others the list goes on and on.

With the GSPCA providing 24/7 we couldn’t do so much without our amazing team.

In recent years with all the challenges our volunteers have really been on the frontline and especially our GSPCA Animal Ambulance Wardens and we cannot thank them enough.

The Wardens are volunteers that go out all hours to help sick, injured and stray animals and are part of a team that has spanned nearly 50 years in providing and filling this volunteer role.

From rescuing animals stuck up chimneys to rounding up stray farm animals the Wardens are truly incredible and even get calls for snakes that turn out to be a geocache.

Next Induction dates set are:

  • Wednesday 12th July 2023 – Volunteer Induction Evening
  • Wednesday 13th September 2023 - Volunteer Induction Evening
  • Wednesday 25th October 2023 - Volunteer Induction Evening

Steve continued “If you can’t make it and would like to become a volunteer please download and return the following application form to [email protected] and we can arrange a remote induction

“As well as volunteers we are looking to recruit those keen to help animals, make a difference and support our community and start a career in animal care at the GSPCA.”

“Every day we help save lives and support our community in a vast array of ways as we have done for 150 years.”
