Geoff George one of the longest serving staff members will next month run the Guernsey Marathon for the GSPCA.

Geoff is the GSPCA Animal Collection Officer and works around the clock to help rescue and care for animals in Guernsey.

His main passion are the Grey Seals and many will remember Jethou Bumblebee and Hanois two which were rescued, cared for and released by the Shelter earlier this year.

It was Geoffs dedication, hard work and around the clock care that meant these two beautiful creatures had the chance to be saved and released back to the wild.

Geoff loves his job and cares for the Shelter and he is always trying to help in any way he can and this year he has decided to brave the Guernsey Marathon to raise funds for the Shelter and is currently training for the 26 and 385 yards or 42.195km which takes place on the 22nd September.

Geoff George ACO said 'I've been training for weeks and watching my diet to ensure I'll be able to make it round the Guernsey Marathon in a good time.'

'We make a difference every day at the GSPCA helping rescue and care for animals in Guernsey and I am hoping to raise as much as I can to help the wonderful work that we do.'

'It was fantastic helping the two seals earlier this year but there are many more to care for and we really need to rebuild many of the facilities at the Shelter such as the Cattery and Quarantine Build and the Seal facilities so every makes a huge difference.'
