George (8) writes to the GSPCA with a wonderful donation after giving up sweets and chocolate for January

Today we received a wonderful letter from a young 8 year old called George Bennett who did something very special for the GSPCA during January.
In the letter George wrote “Dear GSPCA, I gave up sweets and chocolate for the whole of January. I have raised £61 for the animals.”
George who is from St Sampsons had his story recently covered in the Guernsey Press on GP Ted’s page.
The write up tells how George and his brother Edward gave up sweets and chocolate for January to raise funds for the GSPCA and Durrell Wildlife Park.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We are so grateful to George for his wonderful challenge, donation and letter, what a healthy way to help raise funds for the hundreds of animals in our care at the GSPCA.”
“It really touches the hearts of the team here at the GSPCA when the next generation get involved with helping animals in Guernsey as in future years they will be the volunteers and those running the Animal Shelter and caring for the animals of Guernsey.”
