Submitted by Steve on 21:59, 27th Feb, 2017 | 0

Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday also know to many as Pancake Day and many of us will shopping for our ingredients.  The GSPCA would like to remind everyone to think of the produce that you are going to use and please look to buy Animal Welfare friendly products such as free range eggs.

Although the EU legislation has forced many battery farms to improve their standards, chickens that live as free range birds have a much better quality of life.

Mother & daughter Catherine & Charlotte rescued and now safe at the GSPCA

Submitted by Steve on 15:42, 17th Feb, 2016 | 0

Just over a week ago a mother chicken and her chick were rescued in Torteval.

The mother now named Catherine was extremely weak and thin when she was found and wouldn't have survived if the kind member of public hadn't rescued her and her daughter who is now called Charlotte in the cold weather we have been experiencing.

Both birds are doing very well and putting on weight every day.

Submitted by GSPCA on 15:13, 11th Jul, 2013 | 0

After an operation to remove a lump from his throat and an overnight stay Nouska the Husky is back at the Animal Shelter and doing well.

The lump which was found after Nouska was signed over to the Shelter has now been removed and he is on pain relief, antibiotics and a special food to help his recovery.

We have sent the lump away to be diagnosed and will hopefully no longer cause Nouska and more issues.
