It is amazing how we are supported in such a range of ways at the GSPCA.
We need to say a huge thanks to Bourse Trust Company who recently held a cake sale in aid of our 24/7 work helping 1000’s of animals every year and raised an amazing £103.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We are in awe in the many ways those that care about our animal welfare work support us at the GSPCA carry out our 24/7 work.”
“We recently received an amazing donation of £103 from Bourse Trust Company who held a cake sale in aid of all of what we do at the GSPCA.”
Last month at the GSPCA we posted this lovely plea for sponsorship and support for a very kind person wanting to support local charities –
‘Please Sponsor Alex Murrell’s Golf Challenge for GSPCA, the Guernsey Blind Association & Guernsey Alzheimer's Association
Alex Murrell is raising funds for the GSPCA, Guernsey Blind Association ( La Grande Mare Golf Club Mens Captain's charity) and Guernsey Alzheimer's Association. (Lady Captain's charity)
The GSPCA would like to say a huge thanks to volunteer Karen Brozka for making cards and selling them to raise funds for our animal welfare work and the many animals in our care during lockdown.
Karen said “Hope you are well and managing to get through this challenging time.”
“As Baxter (my goldie) and I have not been able to go out and rattle the tin for you lately, I decided to do a little fund raising.”
“Not much, £100, but hopefully this will help towards hedgehog meals or a few runs at food etc.”
During lockdown we have been touched by many amazing stories of those wanting to support the work of the GSPCA during these very difficult days.
Here is another we really want to share with you.
Vicky Nagy tells us all about her kind son Kobi -
‘My son is called Kobi Nagy hes 11 years old and attends Amherst Primary School.
His favourite animals are Sloths & he would love a golden retriever one day.
He chose the GSPCA as it's for the animals and wanted to help.
When he gets older he would like to work for British Airways as cabin crew.
The GSPCA was founded in 1873 and to help celebrate 143 years caring for animals in Guernsey we are asking for your help.
There are many ways you, your school, group, work place, business can help celebrate.
The GSPCA week starts 8th February and celebrations will carry on until the 14th with our anniversary being Valentines Day the 14th February.

I am currently embarking on an adventure (or torture as some say!) of a lifetime in which I hope to raise £2000 for each of my chosen charities. So if you've seen me out running in even the most horrific of weather, this is why!!
