Did you see what Ladies College did recently for the GSPCA?
On Friday 31st May they held a fund raiser day for the GSPCA.
Both the GSPCA and Ladies College celebrated 150 years last year and recently they held a day to help the animals and our 24/7 work. Events included a non-uniform day, some even animal themed, they brought cuddly animals to school, took in animal books, bought animal biscuits and even sold and bought a variety of goods supplied by the GSPCA from wrist bands to pens. They had a variety of activities including an animal obstacle course, animal outdoor shared read and even animal guest appearances.
Yesterday a range of students from Ladies College visited the GSPCA for a guided tour with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne laden with gifts.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have to say a massive thank you to the team, students and parents at Ladies College who put on an amazing fund raiser for the GSPCA on the 31st May.”
“Yesterday a bus load of students with two teachers visited with boxes and boxes of donations and goodies from cleaning items to treats, animal toys to towels for the animals and their care.”
“They also presented us with an incredible cheque for £810.22p from the fund raising day which sounds like it was a lot of fun.”
“Both the GSPCA and Ladies College celebrated 150 years last year and we are so thankful for all of their support.”
“After they delivered the goodies and presented the donation with a picture at the front of the Shelter the goodies were very quickly being shared between the animal units and many put straight in use and we gave the students a tour of the Shelter.”
“From Barnacle Bill the loggerhead turtle to hoglets, seal pups to Hilda the 90 year old tortoise they got to see many of the animals and learn about our work at the GSPCA.”
“They had so many questions and all left with lots of knowledge on the 24/7 work we do at the GSPCA.”
