With another roasting day ahead of us the GSPCA want to ensure all pet owners take care of their animals.
The GSPCA during hot weather always receive reports from concerned members of the public that have seen dogs locked in cars and other animals in glass houses.
The last month has been no different with dogs being reported in cars to pigs in greenhouses.
With the warm weather and direct sunlight, dogs in cars are potentially in a situation where you could kill your pet if it is left, regardless of the situation.
On Saturday the 22nd August the GSPCA will be collecting around Guernsey for our annual Flag Day.
We have filled many of the locations, but we are appealing for volunteers to help with collecting.
Sarah Ozanne Organisor of this years Flag Day said "Last year we helped raise over £3000 during our Flag Day."
"Our main flag day is on Saturday 22nd August and if you can help I would love to hear from you."
"Thank you to those that helped collect and donated the other week when we were at Waitrose and we are hoping to collect at Marks and Spencers in October."
Yesterday the GSPCA were called out to a dog that had been left in a car on what was another very hot day.
The dog as reported by Guernsey Police was recovered and taken to the GSPCA.
Lorna Prince the Animal Welfare Manager and Annabelle Janes Animal Care Assistant and Collection Officer attended the scene and worked alongside the Guernsey Police.
The dog which is now fine and back with the owner highlights the importance of not leaving any pet at risk in the warm and sunny weather.

On Easter Saturday 40 dogs, their owners and a team of volunteers took part in a sponsored walk to help two Guernsey charities.
Sponsored by the Pet Cabin and supported by Island FM the event helped raise funds for the GSPCA and Help a Guernsey Child.
The walk took place at 9.30 in the morning starting at North Beach and finishing at the Bridge.
On Saturday 19th April, we are celebrating the Easter Weekend throughout the community with Island FM by asking all dog owners to come together and help raise money for Help a Guernsey Child and the GSPCA.
Through a brisk walk and some community spirit we will raise money for the charities.
Tomorrow which is Saturday the 31st August the GSPCA will be collecting at our last two locations for the last part of our annual Flag Day.
Many of the spots at the two Marks and Spencer stores are filled but we welcome anyone that can and would like to help.
