Last night the Guernsey Community Foundation Awards 2018 took place and the GSPCA were there in force with staff, volunteers and linked organisations as an amazing number of categories had GSPCA volunteers or projects as finalists.
Sadly 2018 wasn’t the year for the GSPCA to win an award but from the key speaker being GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne to the sheer number of links and finalists the GSPCA was heavily mentioned and highlighted at these amazing awards.
Next Tuesday the Guernsey Community Foundation Community Awards 2018 take place and the GSPCA will be there in numbers as an amazing number of categories have GSPCA volunteers or projects as finalists.
In 2016 the GSPCA were award with the Guernsey Community Foundation Community Awards 2016 Charity of the Year and next weeks key speaker will be GSPCA Steve Byrne talking about the work of charities and some of the challenges we all face.
The Guernsey Community Foundation Awards are an amazing way that local charities, businesses and individuals are celebrated each year in the charity sector and the GSPCA have had the pleasure of attending and even winning the Charity of the Year in 2016.

Tonight the GSPCA are attending the Guernsey Community Foundation Awards and would like to wish all the amazing finalists good luck in these fantastic awards highlighting the amazing charity work that goes on each year in Guernsey.
Last year the GSPCA were overwhelmed to be awarded the Guernsey Community Foundation Charity of the Year which was extremely humbling and has been hugely appreciated after what was a momentous year with so many major stories and developments at the GSPCA.
Last week the GSPCA started giving judges from the Guernsey Community Foundation Awards a behind the scenes tour of the GSPCA.
Two judges Richard Le Tocq with his family and also Fionnuala Carvill with Sadie Siviter de Paucar Development Manager from the Guernsey Community Foundation have received their tours with other judges due to have a look around.

Last night the Guernsey Community Foundation held their 6th annual awards evening to highlight the amazing charity work that goes on across Guernsey.
It has been a humbling whirlwind and the GSPCA and our fantastic team are extremely proud to announce that we have been awarded the Charity of the Year.
24 hours a day 7 days a week work to help animals and the community goes on 365 days a year and without our amazing team and the wonderful support of the community we couldn't achieve so much.

Yesterday the finalists of the Guernsey Community Foundation Awards were announced.
The GSPCA are proud and very privileged to be shortlisted for Charity of the Year with the amazing Les Bourgs Hospice and fantastic Guernsey Mind who both do amazing things for the community at their causes.
This evening on ITV Channel at 6pm they will be show casing all three charities and on Thursday they will broadcast live the winner from St James Hall at the awards evening.
The judges of the award gave this as the reason for short listing the GSPCA -

Today the GSPCA have been at the OSA recruitment Pop Up Shop with a selection of other charities to speak to the community about volunteering.
With the sun shining, the GSPCA would like to thank OSA Recruitment, Volunteer.gg, Association of Guernsey Charities and the Community Foundation for the chance to join some great causes in St Peter Port to spread the word of helping animals in Guernsey through Volunteers Week.
