In 2021 you may have heard that the upper limit has been increased to £7500 which means even more help to support good causes with the lower limit from £500.
For 2021 it still is from £500 and is up to £7500 and here are the details - https://www.gov.gg/article/151830/Income-tax-relief
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “As an animal welfare charity every penny donated to the GSPCA makes a difference to animals in Guernsey.”
In September 2009 the States of Guernsey agreed to change the way in which tax relief was given in respect of donations to Guernsey Registered Charities (GRC).
Previously income tax relief was only available to individuals who made payments under an irrevocable Deed of Covenant in favour of a Guernsey Registered Charity for a period in excess of 3 years; no relief was available to Guernsey resident individuals in respect of noncovenanted donations to Guernsey charities.
In summary, the system up to 2020 works as follows:
The GSPCA would like to say a huge thank you to both Sure Community Foundation and Helen Holmes for their amazing donations of iphones to help ensure we have operational lines for our 24/7 service.
We have been running our #GSPCACoronavirusCrisisAppeal since the start of the crisis, but there are always key pieces of equipment that we require to ensure we can operate and having recently had an issue with one of our emergency phones which failed we launched an appeal for a new iphone and cannot thank the Sure Community Foundation and Helen Holmes who donated a handset each.
The GSPCA would like to say a huge thank you to both Waitrose stores in Guernsey for their amazing support and to help with our #GSPCACoronavirusCrisisAppeal .
Shortly after releasing the desperate need for support at the end of March the team got in touch to see how they could help.
A few days later we received not only a fantastic rage of fresh fruit and veg for the animals, but we also had a box of goodies to keep the team going at the GSPCA.
Since then each week we have had donations from both stores which has helped feed the many animals in our care.
The GSPCA are hugely thankful to the regular and continued support of Le Friquet Garden Centre.
Not only have they helped volunteer, with unique projects and events like Family Fun Days and our Memorial Garden, but ever month they supply much needed goods and items for the animals in our care.
At the beginning of each month a member of the GSPCA team head down to Le Friquet Garden Centre to collect much needed supplies for the animals in our care.
The GSPCA would like to say a huge thank you to the Petplan Charitable Trust.
As a result of our recent Urgent Kennel Appeal the Petplan Charitable Trust have donated £5,000 to this must needed and urgent work.
Over the last two months much needed work on the kennel floors has taken place, but this uncovered major drain and structural issues.
Our kennels which were built in 2005 had a vinyl flooring put down which had sadly got to a point recently where new flooring was desperately needed which has been taking place since mid May.
Yesterday GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne met with the Chairman of the Association of Guernsey Charities Peter Rose and the wonderful volunteers behind charity.gg volunteer.gg and the newly launched giving.gg
The reason for the invite was to help with the media launch of this wonderful new website that will help local charities have a free way to generate donations and appeals online.
Over the last few months the very generous Waitrose Rohais staff and store have been helping with feed for Olivia the loggerhead turtle.
Both the store and the staff have been helping donate the squid that she seems to really enjoy from the Waitrose Rohais fresh fish counter.
On Friday last week as a way of a thank you two of the Waitrose staff popped along to the GSPCA at feeding time and had the unique opportunity to feed Olivia in her enclosure at the GSPCA.
The GSPCA would like to say a huge thank you to the staff at Heritage International Fund Managers who have kindly donated a grand total of £100.
The fantastic donation was raised through their staff charity tuck shop and has been added to the funds to help Olivia the turtle fly to the Canaries.
Marcelle Belle Secretary at Heritage International Fund Managers said "The staff charity tuck shop at Heritage International Fund Managers has donated £100 to help return Olivia the turtle to her natural habitat."
