Each Summer the GSPCA attend many of the events held around Guernsey and once again for 12 years running we attended the West and North Shows with a huge amount of help from staff from Northern Trust.
Every year for over a decade each summer staff from Northern Trust have been helping the GSPCA in many ways.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We love attending as many events as we possibly can to promote the work of the GSPCA, raise funds and awareness.”
Today Thursday 24th August is the second day of the North Show and the GSPCA are here with a stall and have been attending since 2012.

“Even last night we didn’t stop with stray dogs, baby birds, injured hedgehogs, injured bat and so many other challenges.”
This Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th August it is the North Show and the GSPCA are here with a stall and have been attendingsince 2012.

Last year the Northern Trust spent two days volunteering at the GSPCA.
On the 15th July 3 Northern Trust staff arrived at 9am to be greeted by Tim Pellett the GSPCA Training and Community Officer and at the North Show 3 further staff ehelped Steve Byrne and Lorna Prince on our stall.
Tim Pellett GSPCA Community and Training Officer said “Last year we welcomed 3 staff from Northern Trust who were fantastic volunteers helping around site from planting bulbs to caring for our Memorial Garden.”
This August we had 14 more amazing Northern Trust staff volunteer for the GSPCA.
Over the previous four years 134 volunteers from Northern Trust have helped out at the GSPCA, with 38 staff helping in 2014 and a further 26 helping in 2015, 34 in 2016 and 16 in 2017, 48 in 2018 4 during June this year and with the 14 in august it takes the total to 180 in total.
The GSPCA has had a great time at all of the Summer Shows and especially so at the West and North Show thanks to some amazing volunteers from Northern Trust.
On Wednesday 4 staff from Northern Trust helped on our stall at the West Show and 5 on the Thursday and at the North Show 4 helped on the Wednesday and an amazing 9 volunteers on the Thursday.
On Tuesday 19th June Northern Trust staff came for their third volunteer day of 2018.
Over the previous four years 125 volunteers from Northern Trust have helped out at the GSPCA, with 38 staff helping in 2014 and a further 26 helping in 2015, 34 in 2016 and 16 in 2017, 11 earlier this year and additional 9 last week taking the total to 134.
On Thursday 17th May Northern Trust staff came for their first volunteer day of 2018.
Over the previous four years 114 volunteers from Northern Trust have helped out at the GSPCA, with 38 staff helping in 2014 and a further 26 helping in 2015, 34 in 2016 and 16 in 2017.
On Tuesday 27th June Northern Trust staff came to the rescue to help with a number of very important jobs that needed to be done that week.
Over the previous three years 106 volunteers from Northern Trust have helped out at the GSPCA, with 38 staff helping in 2014 and a further 26 helping in 2015, 34 in 2016, 8 earlier this year and an additional 8 on the 27th June.
Yesterday Northern Trust broke a GSPCA record as over 100 of their staff have now helped volunteer since April 2014.
This was a literal ground breaking record as the team of 8 not only took the volunteer numbers from Northern Trust to 106 they also spent the day digging, weeding, planting and laying a disabled access path to our wildlife area and pond with help from the Work to Benefit team and Group Leader Ann Wragg from St Andrews Floral Group.
