Molly a black female cat that arrived at the GSPCA in October 2014 finally found her forever home last week.
For over a year at the GSPCA the team have been trying to find Molly a home but sadly many of the black cats are passed by especially those in their older years.
Molly arrived at the Shelter on the 4th October 2014 after her owner could no longer care for her. When she arrived she was found to have an eye ulcer that took many months to heal.
With Molly being 10 years of age many looking for a cat tend to help the younger animals but finally last week it was Molly's turn.
On Friday Molly was adopted and now lives in her new home in St Peter Port.
As soon as she arrived she made herself at home at the team at the GSPCA are overjoyed with how well she is doing.
Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant said "Molly is such a sweet heart and it was wonderful to finally see her go to a new home on Friday."
"On Friday afternoon the new owner had sent us pictures and also told us she was running up and down her stairs and playing with the toys she had got for Molly."
"The older and black cats are often those that stay with us longer and it is lovely when we finally find them that forever home."
"We have quite a few black as well as black and white cats in need of a home like Ebony, Mitzi, Sheba, Taz and Thyme to mention a few."
"Many of the cats can be seen on the GSPCA website or please pop in ideally 11am to 4.30pm any day except Sunday to complete a form and view those in need of a home."
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "Molly was a star and it's fantastic that she has found a new and loving home."
"We have many animals in need of homes at the GSPCA from cats to many rabbits, birds to ferrets so if you are thinking of adopting a pet please do get in touch with us at the GSPCA."
"If you can't have a pet or already have enough at home maybe you could help sponsor those in the care of the Animal Shelter."
