GSPCA Please Help Our Birthday Wishes Come True - Celebrating 145 years 14th February

On this day 145 years ago a group of caring souls that decided that an organisation was needed in Guernsey to stop the neglect and cruelty to animals in Guernsey was formed with a focus on education and supporting the community.
From those humble beginnings in 1873 around 6 generations ago it is unlikely that those founding volunteers would believe the journey the GSPCA would face and how far we would come.
Today on the 14th February 2018 the GSPCA celebrate 145 years and on our founding day and this Valentines Day could you help our birthday wishes come true.
There are many ways to support our work and here are a few ideas using the numbers of 1 4 5.
£1.45p or a penny for every year – By donating £1.45 you could help feed and worm one of our 80+ hedgehogs at the GSPCA or feed one of the dogs in for a home today.
£14.50 or 10p for every year – By donating £14.50 you could help feed all of the cats looking for a home on our birthday or help feed Temperance the seal pup for 2 days.
£145.00 or £1 for every year – By donating £145 you can help us carry out an operation on one of the animals in our care. Our vet fees costs £1000’s every month and we never know when we rescue a sick or injured animal when they will need an operation or complicated vet care.
£1,450.00 or £10 for every year – By donating £1450 and an extra £1.61 you can help us refloor one of our kennels which will then last for decades. In the next few months we are looking to put new floors down in our kennels and we are appealing for support to help with this huge project. We help around 200 stray dogs a year, find 30 to 50 dogs new homes, help dogs in emergency situations, rescue dogs that have been neglected or cruelly treated, house dogs for those on their holidays to mention a small selection of why dogs come to stay at the GSPCA.
£14,500.00 or £100 for every year – By donating £14,500 this could put new floors in 10 kennels or help pay for the running costs for the whole work of the Shelter for a week. With over 500 animals in our care and rescuing animals 24/7 as well as running 15 buildings at the GSPCA it costs around £2,000 a day to run the GSPCA.
£145,000.00 or £1,000 for every year – This to anyone this is a huge amount of money but this would help run the GSPCA for 3 months covering all costs 24 hours 7 days a week or would go a long way towards rebuilding some of our older buildings which some date back to the late 1940’s. We are always looking for Build Partners and if anyone would like to help with our Redevelopment & Rebuild projects then we would love to hear from them.
