Back in March a stray cat was rescued and made its way to the GSPCA.  Sadly no owner could be found and the poor cat had a number of health issues.

The GSPCA named the cat Kit Kat who is a lovely man and who came to us as a stray with one of the worst mouths we have ever seen.

After a number of tests it was found that he has calicivirus, due to this the poor boy had to have all his remaining teeth removed and also had a few courses of antibiotics.

Because of his condition he needed to be a house cat with no other pets present, especially cats.

After months of care, medication and an operation he was able to look for a home.

At 7 years of age and the special home required, he was with us for some time before the perfect home was found, but when it was the team at the GSPCA were over joyed.

Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant said "Kit Kat is such a special cat that has been through so much after being found with so many health problems as a stray."

"Kit Kat requires antibiotics on and off for the rest of his life when his mouth causes him problems, however he is a lovely boy and he does not let his mouth get him down."

"Kit Kat loves to play with toys with feathers on and eats really well even though his meat has to be blended for him."

"This lovely man has been through so much and it was amazing when we found him his special new home to call his own."

"We have a number of older cats needing special homes and some you can see on our website and anyone can now visit the inside of the rehoming cattery 7 days a week for a donation of £2 7 days a week between 11am and 4.30pm."

"If you can't adopt a cat you can support them by becoming an Angel Pen Pal Sponsor and donate to their care each month and receive updates on how they are doing."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager "It was so lovely to see Kit Kat go to his new home after going through so much."

"Even with all his health problems he was always happy to see you and such a lovely cat."

"We wish Kit Kat all the best in his loving new home."

"We have a number of older cats in need at the GSPCA such as Lucy who is in double figures and Mitzi who needs a special home as she can be lovely but also a madam when she wants."

"You can visit the cats looking for homes 7 days a week and if you pop along to our charity shop you will walk pass many of them."
