Le Friquet Garden Day Family Fun Day a great event thanks from the GSPCA

On the 22nd July on a wet and windy day Le Friquet Garden Centre organised a Family Fun Day in aid of the GSPCA.
With the inclement weather the event moved inside thanks to the space available at Le Friquet Garden Centre so with entertainment, face painting, BBQ, bouncy castles, planting and the GSPCA stall there was plenty to do and see.
The day was well attended and over £425 was raised for the many animals at the GSPCA.
Le Friquet Home of Garden & Living earlier this year announced that they will be donating 1% of their pet department sales to support their chosen charity, the GSPCA throughout 2017, and are asking customers for their help to back this initiative.
The Castel based garden centre, who are supporting the charity for the 2nd year running, are putting a number of initiatives into action this year in order to help raise awareness of the GSPCA’s excellent work, as well as raise much needed funds to ensure the health and well-being of the animals they look after.
Throughout the year, Le Friquet are donating pet food every month as well as bedding and on-going conservation work funding to the local animal shelter in St Andrews. They have also been housing collection tubs and food donation bins in store so that customers are able to contribute and get involved.
Le Friquet Manager, James Robin said “We’re thrilled to be supporting the GSPCA again.”
“The GSPCA work tirelessly 365 days a year to carry out their important rescue work and we feel it’s a really crucial cause to support and fund. We kindly ask all of our customers to support us in our mission!”

“We are also very excited that the GSPCA will be helping provide pet care sheets for Le Friquet’s pet department staff to use and hand out, as well as a pre-homing questionnaire for those interested in homing a new pet’”
“It is fantastic to be working with Le Friquet, who last year helped in many ways, from equipment and care for Olivia the loggerhead turtle, to donations of pet food.”
“During July we had a fantastic Family Fun Day at Le Friquet Garden Centre raising funds for the many animals at the Shelter.”
“We are looking at other events at Le Friquet Garden Centre later this year so please keep an eye out.”
“Our next big event is at Mallard Cinema on the 1st October with a fun dog show, stalls, car boot, children’s films and much more.”

Le Friquet Pet Department also work closely with Isabelle Vets, offering those who purchase selected pets from the centre with a free health check. Isabelle Vets also visit the Pet Department on a fortnightly basis to check the health
