The storm St Jude hits the Wildlife of Guernsey, but luckily Henry the Herons back in the wild

With the wind and weather battering our shores the GSPCA have been kept busy with Wild Animals and Birds being rescued around Guernsey.
We have had 10 Hedgehogs since Saturday and 11 birds from Robins to Gulls all found sick, injured or trapped.
Sadly some of them we were unable to save due to their injuries but one of the lucky birds has been Henry the Heron.
Henry had been taking Shelter in an Islanders pond and garden but unfortunately got caught in netting.
He was rescued and brought into the Shelter very wet and disheveled on Sunday.
Thankfully Henry is fully fit and was able to be released earlier today as the winds have dropped.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant 'After a few days rest I checked Henry the Heron over this morning and he was fighting fit so we opened his enclosure and he soared beautifully into the air and back to where he belongs in the wild.'
'Whenever bad weather hits our shores it can have a dramatic effect on our Wildlife.'
'Many of the Animals and Birds are doing very well at the GSPCA, but sadly some were so injured or sick there was nothing we or the vets could do.'
'Thankfully we haven't had any calls of sick or injured Grey Seal Pups, but do we urge anyone that does spot a young Seal to give us a call on 257261.'
