Every day at the GSPCA we help stray animals and last month it was a goose that we were called out for.
GSPCA team members Geoff George and Neil Hughes we called out to the are that borders St Martins and St Peter Port on the 21st September for a stray goose.
Once the bird was caught it was transported to the GSPCA to be cared for.
We took a picture and shared in online and thankfully withing 24 hours the bird was reunited with the owner.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We never know what we will be called out for at the GSPCA.”
“From a herd of cows to a frog every day is different.”
“Last month the team were called out for a stray goose.”
Neil Hughes GSPCA Team Member said “When I got to the area at Jefferies Garage the stray goose didn’t want to be caught so I had to call for back up so Geoff came and helped.”
“Its great that we found the owner so quickly.”
Steve continued “Thankfully the goose was claimed quickly but if not claimed within 21 days then stray animals go up for homes.”
“We do have quite a range of birds looking for homes including cockerels and anyone interested please complete an adoption questionnaire by going to http://www.gspca.org.gg/sites/default/files/Interview%20Form%20%28Rabbit%20or%20Guinea%20Pig%29.doc .”
“We have a few birds in need of a home at the GSPCA such as an Amazon Parrot, Zebra Finches, Cockerels and we have lots of other animals in need which can be seen by going to https://www.gspca.org.gg/animals .”
