This Sunday thanks to Oatlands there will be a 1950's bus on display along the Seafront for the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.
Not only a classic bus but the Flying Christine III will be there too, the St Johns boat that help saves many lives every year.
There is a dog show, live music, doggy dancing, bring pictures for an animal picture show, bouncy castles, kids games, food stalls, charities and don't forget the Giant Animal Mascot Race, check out the full list here of giant animals -
With only 2 days to go we still have a few animal suits to fill. For only £100 you can help animals in Guernsey in a really fun way. With over 40 people dressing up so far we still need you to join in. The race starts at 1pm and is less than 300 yards along the Seafront and is all a bit of fun but you can win Aurigny flight tickets if you are lucky, check out the full list here -
Every year we rehome hundreds of animals and help thousands more from strays to wildlife.
This Sunday we need your help with some very different creatures. Over thirty business and local celebrity mascots will be racing along the Seafront in St Peter Port to raise funds for animals in Guernsey.
That's right over thirty businesses have come forward to man and run in this short race along the front but we still have 30 more to go. At 1pm in heats of 5-7 runners Giant Animals of all descriptions will be racing and entertaining the crowds.
The GSPCA would like to extend a HUGE thanks to everyone that has helped at the many events over the last few weeks. From Guernsey Festival to Chaos, the West to the North Show, Donkey Derby to Vale Earth Fair and of course the dozens of volunteers that helped collected all over Guernsey on Saturday during our flag day. The money is still being counted and figures of the fantastic effort will be released soon.
We are now calling all volunteers that can help at our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 9th September to meet up for a briefing before the day.
With only a little over a week to go we are trying to encourage as many people to get involved with the Giant Animal Mascot Race on September 9th for the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.
Over 30 runners are taking part as well as some local celebrities but we still need you to get involved. For only £100 you, your local pub, business, group or anyone that would like to get involved can. We have 30 suits to fill and you can see those that are, who you are helping and which are still available in this short video -
To ensure the Animal Mascot runners are kept caged in safely during the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday Mascot Race a week Sunday we are having to hire barriers from the States.
Unfortunately these come with a cost and we are looking for a sponsor to help cover this to help ensure the runners and the spectators are safe on what should prove to be a fantastic day.
The barriers will also be used to help create areas for the dog show and other sections that need fencing off.
With less than two weeks to go we can confirm that the Flying Christine III will be attending the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 9th September.
The Flying Christine III is celebrating 60 years of operation this year & as part of the celebrations the public on the 9th September will be invited to come aboard & meet the crew.
Things are coming together for the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday and pictured above the first draft of a map of event locations for the day and below are more details on some of the festivities.
On the 9th September 2012 10am to 4pm the GSPCA will be organising a day to celebrate the animals in Guernsey and all the wonderful work that is done to care for them.
There will be stalls and fun for all the family - all with an animal theme.
