With another sunny week ahead of us the GSPCA want to ensure all pet owners take care of their animals.
The GSPCA during hot weather always receive reports from concerned members of the public that have seen dogs locked in cars and other animals in glass houses.
With the warm weather and direct sunlight, dogs in cars are potentially in a situation where you could kill your pet if it is left, regardless of the situation.
Its getting closer and closer to the GSPCA Flag Day event on Saturday 23rd August 2014.
We are looking for help and if you are able to help us out, please could you contact Sarah Ozanne at the Shelter with the time slots and places you can help with.
We are looking at 2 hour slots but anything is appreciated. The slots are:

Today the GSPCA rescued a second sick seal pup in less than 24 hours since the last.
Eden as she has been fondly named was seen earlier this afternoon in Havelet Bay on the Castle Pier next to Castle Cornet and was reported to the Animal Shelter.
Geoff George Animal Collection Officer rushed to the scene and arrived just after 2pm where he was faced with one of the thinnest pups we have had in many years.
Geoff quickly restrained the very ill pup and transported her to the GSPCA Wildlife Unit.
Tomorrow which is Saturday the 31st August the GSPCA will be collecting at our last two locations for the last part of our annual Flag Day.
Many of the spots at the two Marks and Spencer stores are filled but we welcome anyone that can and would like to help.

This morning the GSPCA had a call about a stray Snake in the St Peter Port area.
Animal Collection Officer Geoff George before he started his shift had a call to help with a rescue of a Snake.
Geoff made his way to First Tower Lane where he found the Albino Corn Snake.
He quickly secured it and it is now back at the GSPCA Animal Shelter in St Andrews, Guernsey.
Geoff George said 'The Albino Corn Snake I rescued this morning seems very well and is fine to handle.'
