This Friday June 23rd is Bring Your Dog to Work Day.
Having a dog in the room can make human colleagues more cooperative, reduce stress, increase job satisfaction and productivity.
When adopting a dog or any animal from the GSPCA we often ask how many hours potential owners may be at work. Perhaps the question should actually be - are you able to take your dog to work?
Discussing the benefits of taking a dog to work might just result in a match with a dog we have in for homing.
The GSPCA will be joining the Leo and Lions Club of Guernsey at their Fairfield Family Fun Day this weekend.

Last Thursday the GSPCA held a First Aid Course for dog owners.
9 local dog owners came along to learn how to save and help their canine friends if they have an accident, injury or health concern.
The GSPCA would like to thank Natalie, Vernon, David, Caroline, Anna, Stephen, Sue, Paul and Jackie for attending the Dog First Aid Course.
Each year the GSPCA help around 200 stray dogs, rehome around 50 dogs a year and help countless more from cruelty cases to owners needing assistance or advice.
During the school breaks we run a series of guided tours at the GSPCA and we have now planned for 2017 with some special tours for the children. You can also book a tour for a special event or birthday. For details on special tours please see below.
This is your opportunity to visit behind the scenes at our Animal Shelter in St Andrews and see the work being carried out for the new build.

The GSPCA with like to say a huge thank you to the organisors of the Liberation Day celebrations in St Peter Port and at the Last Post, both were amazing events and a huge congratulations to all of the organisors.
On Tuesday teams of volunteers took stalls to both events and had a wonderful day celebrating and raising funds for the GSPCA.
In St Peter Port the stall was manned by Steve Byrne, Guy Hardill, Joseph Fox, Ellie Fox, Michelle Champion and even 5 month old Dylan Byrne helped raise in excess of £2500 on an extremely busy stall full of games and GSPCA goods on sale.
On Wednesday the GSPCA held a First Aid Course for cat owners.
3 local cat owners came along to learn how to save and help their feline friends if they have an accident, injury or health concern.
The GSPCA would like to thank Helen, Lava and Lexi for attending the Cat First Aid Course.
With well over 200 cats and often nearly 300 hit by cars a year in Guernsey knowing what to do to help a cat in an emergency can make a huge difference in their chances of survival.
