Last Tuesday GSPCA Volunteer Warden Dave Brook was called out to help rescue an injured bird in need.
The cockerel which was in St Saviours had an injured potentially broken leg and wasn't in very good condition.
'William' as the male bird has been called is mainly white with some black feathers and has improved daily whilst at the GSPCA.
As a stray domestic bird we are appealing for an owner and if anyone has any information please call 01481 257261.
The bird was found in the Rue de la Fosse area of St Saviours.
Just over a week ago a mother chicken and her chick were rescued in Torteval.
The mother now named Catherine was extremely weak and thin when she was found and wouldn't have survived if the kind member of public hadn't rescued her and her daughter who is now called Charlotte in the cold weather we have been experiencing.
Both birds are doing very well and putting on weight every day.
Yesterday GSPCA Ambulance Collection Officer Geoff George was called out to 9 stray ducks.
All nine are a mixture of domestic breeds and were caught on St Claire's Hill.
On arrival the birds were checked over and although fine in themselves were very hungry.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said "It's not every day we catch and take in 9 stray ducks in one go but the birds are all well and currently in one of our aviaries"
"We are appealing for the owner of the birds to please pop in or give us a call on 257261."
Nine days ago a stray canary was rescued on La Brigade.
Joey as the male yellow canary has been called is doing well at the GSPCA and is currently singing to the other birds in our care.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said "Last week a stray canary was rescued and brought into the Shelter who we have called Joey."
"He is singing so we know he is a boy and yellow in colour and we are appealing for an owner to please pop in or give us a call on 257261."
Earlier today a stray terrapin was found walking along the Green Lanes.

Very cold the team at the GSPCA have named the unusual stray Oliver and we are pleased to report despite being out in the Guernsey winter he is now safe at the Animal Shelter and made it through the night.
Their natural habitats include deserts, arid and rocky areas, dry forests and scrublands and are mainly found in the eastern and central parts of Australia and not the south east of Guernsey.
Today another stray tortoise was found on the Gibauderie in St Peter Port.
If you live in the area and missing a tortoise please do get in touch.
'Riley' as staff and volunteers have named the male, adult Herman's tortoise is not chipped and we have had no reports of a missing tortoise.
Each year we see around 30 stray tortoise handed into the GSPCA and we find the owners for nearly every one.
Thankfully he is safe and warm at the GSPCA, but we are appealing for the owner to come forward.

Yesterday we told you about Dude a very sick old stray cat that was found on the Bridge in St Sampson's.
He has just arrived back from the vets having had some tests and is a very tired lad so is currently asleep after a long day.
We are pleased that thankfully he has tested negative for feline aids and leukemia, but we have discovered he has high blood pressure which has resulted in his eyes hemorrhaging which has caused a loss in his sight.
We are awaiting further results which include tests for his thyroid and renal.
Earlier this week we reported on Jubilee an injured stray cat that was rescued in the Castel area.
We would like to thank everyone for their donations towards Jubilee and we are pleased to report his eye is healing extremely well and he is improving daily.
He has had a full week of treatment and continues his assessment and time as a stray within the Animal Welfare Ordinance as all stray animals must be kept for a minimum 21 days at the GSPCA
