Last night at the GSPCA we held another Volunteer Induction Evening and were pleased to welcome 14 new volunteers to the team.
Three were interested in volunteering as part of their Duke of Edinburgh, 3 for their work experience in school and 8 individuals looking to help with everything from events to walking the dogs.
Emma Trousdale GSPCA Staff Member inducted the group by talking about the work of the GSPCA, volunteering at the Shelter and also a safety induction.
After the power point presentation and talk Emma handed over to Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager who spoke to each of the new volunteers about their areas of interest and setting dates for each to start helping.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "The Volunteer Inductions that we hold are a great way for new volunteers that want to help at the GSPCA to find out what we do and how they can help."
"They have proved extremely popular and have helped develop a team of over 400 volunteers at the Shelter."
"Many of our volunteers help regularly every week and there are others that help when they can and we appreciate each and every one."
"From last night we have today welcomed back Freja, Lucy and Erin who have been helping around the GSPCA."
"We have the final volunteer induction evening on the 26th November for 2014 and already planned dates for 2015 which can be seen on our events page."
"Thank you to all the new volunteers that came along last night and we look forward to you helping us care for animals in Guernsey."
