The GSPCA couldn’t do so much without our incredible team.
There are many ways to help the animals in our care and we are currently looking for a number of volunteers to help in a range of roles.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “At the GSPCA we have an amazing team and currently we are looking for those that want to help us do all that we do in a variety of roles.”
“Last week was Volunteers Week and last night we held our 3rd Volunteer Induction Evening of 2024.”
“4 attended and one is starting on Saturday to walk dogs to start and another on Monday on dogs and cats.”
“There is a really easy way to become a volunteer and that is to complete the online application.”
“In fact we have a volunteer starting tomorrow who has come through this route.”
“We have over 800 volunteers help at the GSPCA every year from walking the dogs to fund raising.”
“In fact this Sunday we are at both at the Classic Car Show and the EDABL Seafront Sunday and looking for help in each place.”
“To help with the animals and at the Shelter and you can help regularly or occasionally as we have plenty of flexibility to help us especially with walking the dogs as we strive to get them out as much as possible.”
“We have many volunteer roles, one being helping with our animal ambulance.”
“Those that help volunteer on the animal ambulance you will often hear them called animal wardens and many of these help 6pm until 8am ensuring we have 24/7 cover but we also have weekend day hours available if anyone would like to help us with our rescue work.”
“With any volunteer role as mentioned the easiest way to apply is to complete our online application form which only takes a few minutes and we can then get you started.”

“If you would rather come in person to the next volunteer induction evening, it is Tuesday 23rd July at 630pm.”
