Eddie and Dee Ballard tell us of their daughters fundraiser for the GSPCA which you can still donate to by going to https://giving.gg/donate/event/5895/Aishling-s-animal-run-306

‘Aishling heard that the GSPCA were struggling for funding as the Covid 19 crisis was affecting their fundraising.

She was worried that the GSPCA would not be able to help the animals so she decided to do something about it.

Inspired by Captain Tom Morris, she came up with the idea of running a return length of her garden for each animal in care at the GSPCA.

Little did she realise that there were 306 at the time, as they are very busy.

She even added more return lengths onto this total in order to come to a total distance for her run of 10 Km.

On the day the weather was perfect and she smashed it.

We are all very proud of her.

Her dog Willow even joined in for some of the run.

At last count she raised over £450 which was amazing.

A massive thank you to everybody for your support.’

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “A huge thank you to Aishling for her Animal Run 306.”

“You might want to know why it was called Animal Run 306, well on the day we were communicating we had exactly 306 animals in our care.”

“Aishling really smashed her £306 target of £1 towards the care of every animal and is currently on £477.20.”

“Aishling completed her challenge on the 23rd May and she even did an extra 28 laps on top of the 306 to make a grand total of 10 kilometres, which is amazing.”

“We cannot her enough for her support, her amazing challenge and of course to all that donated and supported her.”

“You can still donate to this young ladies page and support the care of the animals at the GSPCA by going to https://giving.gg/donate/event/5895/Aishling-s-animal-run-306 .”

“The Coronavirus Pandemic has put huge pressures on us here at the GSPCA as our shops have closed, had only emergency boarders in and nearly all of our fund raising events have had to be cancelled other than those virtual ones we have created.”

“With running costs of £2000 a day raising the funds to keep the Shelter going is a daily challenge and without kind supporters like Kim and those that donate we could carry out our around the clock work.”

“Please do donate to Kim’s challenge who is helping ensure we can raise funds for the many animals in our care during these difficult days.”

“If you would like to take on your own personal challenge to raise funds for the GSPCA please do get in touch or set up your fundraising page on www.giving.gg or https://www.justgiving.com/gspca .”
