Animal Themed Car Boot run by Insurance Corporation for the GSPCA at Specsavers a fantastic success

The GSPCA are overwhelmed by the success of this weekends Car Boot Sale that was organised and run by the staff at Insurance Corporation.
The team from Insurance Corporation decided that as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility they would like to help organise an event and raise funds for a cause close their hearts.
Contact was made with the GSPCA and the idea of running a Car Boot Sale quickly developed to one with an Animal Theme.
A date was set and plans put in motion and this Sunday gone the event which involved everything from face painting to staff in Giant Animal Suits, lucky dip to tombola, dinky donuts and cakes.
Even before the official start time of 1pm there were well over 30 cars and by 2pm at least 75 cars had set up.
Richard Chandler from the GSPCA set up a stall at the event and said 'It was such a wonderful afternoon, we really couldn't believe how many came along to support the event.'
'The staff from Insurance Corporation just didn't stop they were all fantastic and we really appreciate them organising and running the event.'
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'Even before 1pm there were dozens of cars arriving and it was a great day.'
'The Insurance Corporation staff put in so much effort and made it a wonderful day with just the right weather.'
Viv Roussel Head of HR and Development from Insurance Corporation said 'It was a lot of hard work organising and putting everything together but the team all pulled together and had a great day raising an amazing amount for a fantastic cause.'
'The staff at Insurance Corporation are all animal lovers and the GSPCA do such amazing work we wanted to something to help them.'
'The day raised an unbelievable £1110 and we want to thank everyone involved and supported the event and we know it will go to helping animals in Guernsey.'
The GSPCA would like to officially say a huge thank you to everyone at Insurance Corporation for working so hard to make the Animal Themed Car Boot Sale at Specsavers such a wonderful event and raising so much to help care for the many animals at the Shelter and carry out the work we do around the clock 365 days a year.

The following are events planned for 2013
Every Tuesday during term time between 10.30am and 12pm at the GSPCA we have a coffee morning with bric-a-brac and pet supplies on sale (free entry) also guided tours at £5 per person minimum donation available at 11am. Please click here for more details

17th August Donkey Derby GSPCA Stall - volunteers needed to help with the stand
21st - 22nd August 2013 North Show GSPCA stall - volunteers needed to help with the stand
GSPCA Flag Day August 24th - we are looking for volunteers to help make this the biggest and best flag day the GSPCA has held
Sunday 25th August - Vale Earth Fair - volunteers needed to help with the stand
Wednesday 3rd September 6.30pm - Volunteer Induction Evening - to be held at the Shelter, more details to follow
