Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday – Roary The Guernsey FC Lion joins Daniel the Island FM Donkey, GSPCA Mascot Bernard and dozens

We are overjoyed to announce that Roary the Lion from Guernsey FC will be joining the GSPCA Animal Mascot team in the Giant Animal Mascot 5-a-side football taking place this Sunday from 2pm on the Crown Pier.
With over 100 stalls signed up and final planning underway for the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 20th May you have just one month to sign up and get involved.
We are hugely grateful to the Plough Inn and Ravenscroft who are putting in teams for the Animal Mascot 5-a-side fun football, but there is still time to get your team together.
This Sundat at 2pm on the 20th May giant animals will battle it out on a pitch on the Crown Pier for first place in the annual Animal Mascot 5-a-side competition.
Where else in Guernsey do you get to see friends and family dressed as giant animals playing a game of football with a sea view?
We must say a thank you to DWA who are sponsoring the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday advert on Island FM who will be supporting us on the day and there are ways you can help us too.
Setting up starts at 8am and before we get to the big day we are still looking for help if you can with -
Musicans and buskers to entertain the crowds
5-a-side teams and individuals to dress as animals to play
Vehicles to help transport animals to fund raising goods to the seafront and back at the end of the day

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "With it being only 2 days away this is our last minute appeal for anyone wanting to help or get involved with our BIGGEST day of the year to please get in touch."
"Earlier this year we celebrated 145 years since being founded and this Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday is our 7th and it is always a great fun family day with 1000's of visitors and hundreds of dogs with a few of the animals from the Shelter there too."
"Ravenscroft, Isabelle Vets the reigning champions, The Plough in with two teams, Daniel the Island FM Donkey and many individuals have signed up for the Giant Animal Mascot 5-a-side football and play don't worry we have 70 animal outfits to chose from if you’d like to join in."
"Lorna has the fun dog show all in hand with registration from 11am and Rainbow Daycare are taking charge of the kids zone with chalk drawing and plenty for the kids to do."
"We already have over 100 stalls and things to do signed up and there is still time for any others interested, but must be quick."
"We have lots of singers and performers and any others that would like to add a bit of entertainment to our big day please do get in touch."
