Are your pets microchip details up to date?

In the last 24 hours the GSPCA have received two dogs and a cat that all were chipped but unfortunately did not have up to date details.

The GSPCA are urging all pet owners to ensure you animals microchip details are up to date.  In this modern world with mobile phones we often change numbers and occasionally move address but without these details being kept up to date can mean your pet isn't reunited as quickly as it could be.

To update your pets microchip details please refer to the registration paper work you should have received though the post after having your animal chipped or sent change of owner details if adopted or taken on from a previous owner.

If you can not find these details the GSPCA can help.  All you need do is pop your cat or dog along to the Shelter and we can scan it for you and let you know who you need to contact to update your details.

But my dog or cat isn't microchipped, what can I do?

The GSPCA microchip dogs and cats for only £4.99p.  No appointment necessary just pop your animal up to the Shelter Monday to Saturday 9am to 4.30pm.  We do ask dogs are kept  on leads and cats are brought in a secure basket.

Also some Parishes are helping towards free microchipping with the dog license fee.  To find out more please go to http://www.gspca.org.gg/blog/douzaines-supporting-gspca

For more details please contact 01481 257261 or pop into the Shelter in St Andrews.

If you would like to donate to the GSPCA and help us care for animals in Guernsey you can do so by calling into the Shelter, over the phone on 01481 257261 or by clicking the Paypal button below.

Thank you for your support.
