Yesterday the GSPCA were called out to four baby Ferrets that were spotted in the middle of the road at Camp du Roi.
The Ferrets after being rescued are now safe and sound at the GSPCA in St Andrews.
Kiperling, Nancy, Albert and Wendy are having to be part hand fed by Shelter staff and volunteers due to their young age of only 5 to 6 weeks.
The GSPCA has seen a huge increase in Ferrets this year and we have already had a number of stray youngsters through 2013.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said 'The 4 baby Ferrets seem in fairly good condition but will need hand feeds and are too young to have been separated from their mother.'
'We have seen quite a few stray Ferrets this year and we have 5 currently looking for new homes.'
'Most people think of Ferrets as smelly and nippy but many of ours are extremely friendly, playful and because we neuter them they don't smell that bad at all.'
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'We have nearly 100 animals and birds in need of homes at present and to promote all of those in need we are holding a few late night openings next week.'
'If it hadn't have been for the caring passer by spotting these poor young Ferrets in need they could of easily been run over.'
