Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Yesterday the GSPCA held their 12th Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday and what an incredible day.”
“The weather was just right and with the Guernsey Boat Show also on the Crown Pier and the Guernsey Ultra 2024 the visitors to the day had over 200 stalls, activities and things to see and do.”
“The Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday had so much to see and do from the fun dog show to the free kids zone, displays of our work to our vans, tomobolas to goods on sale, coconut shy to lucky dip and with so many other stalls, charities, food, treats, displays and so much to do we must have seen in excess of 10,000 visitors enjoying the weather and our BIGGEST day of the year.”
“We are humbled every year at the GSPCA Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday from the support to the smiles, the countless happy dogs and the kind donations.”
"The Fun Dog Show was the highlight with so many such loved canines."
"The rescue class was so hard to judge they all went through to Best in Show and the overall was Griffin a rescue greyhound who was so sweet and an ex racer."
“Funds are still coming in, but it will no doubt be certainly be in excess of £5,000 raised to help animals in need, we met those keen to volunteer, adopt animals in need and asking about other ways they can support from gifts in wills to their business getting involved.”
“It is impossible to thank everyone involved but a special mention to the GSPCA team especially Lorna Chadwick who does so much of the organising, Terry Buckley who judged the Fun Dog Show assisted by Seb Goman, Tim and Libby heading up the team on our main stall area and the 100’s of others from those that were needed to run the GSPCA day top day care and rescue to those that added so much to such a special day.”
“We are now into full swing of the main events season with Guernsey Together this weekend followed by guided tours over half term and then at the Arts Seafront Sunday on the 9th June.”
