Last night Geoff George Animal Collection Officer accepted a very lucky lady who has been named Blondie.
Blondie is an adult, female, Hedgehog and was found just after a Bonfire had been lite last night in the Castel area.
Thankfully the finder acted quickly and rushed the her to the GSPCA and despite some very minor injuries she has done well during her first night at the GSPCA.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'Blondie the Hedgehog is so lucky and highlights the importance of ensuring you check your Bonfires before lighting them and even better remake them before they are lite to ensure there is no Wildlife hidden inside.'
'We have lots of good information on our Website as well as products that can help you pets at the Shelter during what can be a very stressful time for animals.'
'We will keep Blondie in for observation but apart from some damaged spines she is in very good shape thankfully.'
'If anyone is looking for food of homes for Hedgehogs we have a great selection at the Shelter.'
Blondie has been given her name as she has very Blonde spines and hair. Blonde Hedgehogs are often seen in Alderney and this little lady is one of the lightest coloured we have seen at the GSPCA.
