Catrina the old stray cat hit by a car improving daily

Do you remember Catrina the old stray cat that was hit by a car earlier this month?

Catrina due to her injuries spent over a month at the vets and is now back in the care of the GSPCA and we are pleased to report she is improving daily despite needing a complicated operation and regular treatment and physio since her accident.

Staff and volunteers are working daily with Catrina to help her improve and all have a soft spot for the sweet but cheeky cat.

Helen Holmes GSPCA Admin Manager who also works on the blocks to care for animals said "Yesterday I was helping Anna with Catrina to clip her nails and she is so lovely."

"Catrina has been through so much and it is so nice to see her improve each day."

Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant said "From how poorly Catrina was when she was rescued to today she has improved massively but has a long road ahead of her."

"Each day we spend time with her to improve her strength in her pelvis and legs and we have to take care with her as she wants to jump and play far more than she is ready for."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "From seeing Catrina at the vets on a drip not able to stand to how she is today really warms the heart."

"When Catrina was found it was a cold winters wet evening and she was collapsed and extremely thin with multiple injuries."

"Catrina continues to need veterinary care and treatment and we continue to appeal for donations towards this loving cats care as well as the 400 other animals at the GSPCA."
