We are hugely grateful to a Co-op Helping Hands grant which helped enable us to also fit a new floor and new large runs in our ferret room at the GSPCA.
The floors were in desperate need of repair and we have been hoping to improve our facilities for our ferrets for many years.
Each year we help dozens of stray and unwanted ferrets and currently have 4 lovely ferrets in need of homes.
Two extremely sweet ferrets are Gizmo and Ghost (as pictured). They came in to as as their owners could sadly no longer care for them.
Both are extremely playful and friendly and are in a loving new home together and to see the animals in need of homes please visit http://www.gspca.org.gg/animals
With over 300 animals in our care and some buildings dating back to the 1950s we are continually looking to improve the Shelter.
To improve the facilities at the GSPCA and upgrade the very old buildings we appeal for kind donations and appreciate all of the much needed support.
To see many other projects, facilities and equipment we would love to improve, add or develop please visit our Wish List page by going to - http://www.gspca.org.gg/about/our-plans-wish-list
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We are so pleased with the new facilities thanks to the Co-op Helping Hands grant which is already helping the many ferrets in our care at the GSPCA."
"Ferrets love to run and play and these new enclosures with the new floor gives them much more space and room for volunteers to sit with them and play."
"There are many other projects we are looking to do including new floors for our kennels and we would love to kit out the bird room with a new floor and aviaries like we have in the ferret room."
"We have been on site at the GSPCA Animal Shelter in St Andrews since 1929 and have a wish list of many items we'd love to develop, build and add to help the 350 animals at the Shelter many of which you can see on our website or please call for details."
"Now these floors are completed our priority is renewing the floors in the kennels, wildlife, hedgehog, seal and bird rooms and if anyone could help please do get in touch."
"We have 8 sections of kennels at the GSPCA and each area to completely pull up the existing floors and renew them will cost between £4500 and £6200 per section as our kennels are quite large and if you would like to help please do get in touch, and to fit floors in the seal and hedgehog unit it will cost £5670."
"If you would like to help with the kennel floors or any of the other items on our GSPCA Wish List please do get in touch."
"From all at the GSPCA and especially the ferrets a huge thank you to the Co-op for their wonderful support and help."
