Here is a wonderful challenge in aid of GSPCA and all the animals in our care –
‘I’ve set this up ( https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/simon-fairclough2 ) as my brother challenged me to cycle every Guernsey road during lockdown (there are more than 300 miles of them) using the current permitted maximum 2 hours a day of exercise.
Subsequently my little companion Piggles (Treacle) passed away and was brought home to me by the GSPCA. The charity does an amazing job looking after pets, animals and wildlife from land, sea and air and is losing some of its usual income streams because of the current crisis. So I’m sure anything you can donate at the moment will help.
Many who visit Le Gouffre will have seen the old girl in days gone by - she was always making friends with passers by and was a regular visitor at The Hollows, Cafe d’Escalier and Le Gouffre Restaurant over the last 16 years. It won’t be the same without her - she’ll be missed greatly.
I’ll update the page regularly with my progress as I wend my way through the island’s lanes and will include some photos from along the way.
