Black and white this very poorly stray cat found in Fermain a week ago was rushed to the vets.
With multiple health issues ‘Pushkin’ as this lovely lad has been called is being treated for runny eyes to the more serious issue of a blood coming from his nose.
Pushkin is on treatment and is comfortable but requires a Cat or CT scan which will cost in excess of £900, not to mention the other care and possible operation he may need.
To donate to Pushkin's Cat Scan GSPCA Appeal and care please go to https://giving.gg/donate/event/9126/Donate-to-Pushkin-s-Cat-Scan-GSPCA-Appeal
With over 3000 animals through our doors in 2021 your support makes a huge difference and by donating via this link you can help Pushkin and the other animals in our care.
Pushkin is an entire male with no microchip, he is an older adult possibly around 10 years old and we have tested him for FIV and Felv which he is negative thankfully.
Anna Paint GSPCA Senior Animal Care Assistant said “Pushkin had and has so many health issues and we are appealing for donations to help towards his care.”
“He is from the Fermain area and is about 10 years old, black and white with no microchip and we are appealing for an owner, but if someone is missing him it is likely he has been missing for some time as he was so poorly we had to rush him to the vets when he was rescued by our Animal Collection Officer Sarah last week.”
“He is on a number of treatments and the vets have said he needs a Cat or CT scan which will cost in excess of £900 not including his care and you can donate by going to https://giving.gg/donate/event/9126/Donate-to-Pushkin-s-Cat-Scan-GSPCA-Appeal .”
“You can also donate by calling 01481 257261, by post to GSPCA, Rue des Truchots, St Andrews, Guernsey GY6 8UD or popping up to the Shelter in St Andrews.”
“Every penny donated will make a real difference to Pushkin and the other animals in our care.”
“If you know who might own Pushkin please call 01481 257261.”
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Poor Pushkin has had a really tough time, an older cat that has obviously been missing for some time he has multiple health issues being cared for and needs a CT scan to see what else could be causing his nose to bleed.”
“He is one of the few cats we have seen with no microchip as thankfully 70-80% strays and cats are chipped but it is so hard to find an owner of unchipped cats, and even more so for the older un-neutered cats.”
“There are many ways to donate to Pushkins appeal from online https://giving.gg/donate/event/9126/Donate-to-Pushkin-s-Cat-Scan-GSPCA-Appeal or by calling 01481 257261, by post to GSPCA, Rue des Truchots, St Andrews, Guernsey GY6 8UD or popping up to the Shelter in St Andrews.”
“If anyone knows who might own Pushkin please call us on 01481 257261 and for advice on stray cats check out http://www.gspca.org.gg/services/lost-found-advice .”
“We will of course keep you up to date on how this lovely kitty cat is doing.”
