Easter Sunday was an eggxtremely busy day for the GSPCA team as not only were there 500+ animals at the Shelter to care for we also had the biggest fund raiser of the year to date.
Island FM teamed up with Cooper Brouard to continue an exciting annual event and fundraiser over Easter with fantastic sporting activities with Outdoor Guernsey including; Archery, the Indoor Climbing Wall and High Ropes.
Island FM, Cooper Broaurd, Outdoor Guernsey and the GSPCA along with some fantastic stall holders welcomed families on Sunday 1st April at Les Maingy’s Activity Centre for what was a great day of fun.
As well as the sporting activities, there was the annual fantastic and hugely attended Easter egg hunt with prizes for all children who entered.
From Cobo Fish and Chips to Atan’s Thai food, Donkey Doughnuts to the GSPCA stall with animals and lots of games to play, the Cash Shower to so much for the kids to do for free everyone enjoyed a lovely day.
As well as all this, there was other activities like face painting and a special appearance from their very own… Daniel the Donkey! Who was accompanied by some fury animal friends from the GSPCA.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We all had a great day at the Easter Eggstravaganza and we have to say a huge thank you to Island FM, Cooper Broaurd, Outdoor Guernsey and all involved.”
“We raised over £300 on the day and had a great day talking to those interested in adopting animals from the Shelter and playing the many tombolas we took.”
“We will next be in town for Liberation Day and then our biggest event of the year is our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 20th May with a huge amount to do and see and we are appealing for help with both events.”
“This year again Island FM and DWA Flooring are supporting our big day and a huge thanks to them.”
“A special mention has to go to Marky T from island FM who was a star on the day and running up to the event.”
“Thank you again to all involved your support for ourselves and Friend Of Frossard Children’s Ward was hugely appreciated.”
