Meet Karen Lane our Education Officer at the GSPCA ‘I am the Education Officer at the Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA). My name is Karen Lane, and I was recently thrilled to embark on this new role with a strong passion for promoting animal welfare education within our community.
At GSPCA, we believe that education plays a pivotal role in fostering a compassionate and responsible society. With this in mind, I am excited to extend an invitation schools, colleges and other education services to participate in our engaging and informative programs designed specifically for students and those interested in animal welfare.
Guided Shelter Tours:
We invite teachers and students to embark on a guided tour of our state-of-the-art animal shelter which has exciting plans about to start in the coming weeks. This unique opportunity will offer an up-close and personal experience, allowing students to learn about the care and rehabilitation of various animals, the importance of responsible pet ownership, and the day-to-day operations of our shelter. Our knowledgeable staff will provide valuable insights and answer any questions your students may have.
Educational Talks:
In line with your curriculum and educational goals, we also offer tailored educational talks delivered by our experts. These talks can cover a range of topics, including animal behavior, welfare, conservation, and the significance of empathy and compassion towards animals. We are flexible and open to collaborating with your educators to align our talks with your ongoing lessons.
