Fun Dog Show and Summer Fayre on Saturday 7th July was a fantastic day but a very wet one

On Saturday we held our Fun Dog Show and Summer Fayre.
We say summer but unfortunately the heavens opened and it rained for most of the day. Despite the wet weather the show went ahead.
As we had to fit owners and dogs into the training room at the Shelter the decision had to be made to go from 13 classes to 1 big class which was judged by Channelonline presenter Rob Moore.
Over 50 dogs attended and Rob met each dog and chatted to all the owners. From chihuahuas to boxers, staffies to cross breeds, there were dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Fortunately we had a break in the weather and we asked all the owners to line up out the front of the Shelter and the winners were announced.

Judge’s favourite - Dave the Rough Collie
We held a Pupcake competition which is a game where dog food is decorated with dog treats. Not the healthiest of options for your pooch but a lot of fun.
Donkey Doughnuts attended and we must say a huge thank you to them for donating all of their proceeds on the day.
There are so many people to thank from the 60 volunteers that helped set up and run the day, those that donated prizes and bric-a-brac, those that attended despite the rain and bad weather and of course everyone that contributed to the day.
Over £2000 was raised on the day and a lot of fun was had by all.
